NIC Honors Graduates of ‘Shift’
A specialized training program held in partnership with Creative Confidence
In collaboration with Creative Confidence, the National Investments Company (NIC) celebrated the graduation of the second batch of the “Shift” training program. This program is exclusively tailored for newly graduated Kuwaiti women, preparing them for careers in the investment sector. The graduation ceremony was held at Boursa Kuwait on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Throughout the ceremony, the graduates delivered engaging presentations about their enriching experience in the training program, sharing the inspiring and motivating ideas they developed during this unique journey. Over the five-week program, a series of diverse courses were conducted for the 20 trainees. The program aimed to support the participants in achieving their personal and professional development goals, strongly emphasizing fostering innovation, creativity, and integration into the investment sector.
The Chairman of the National Investments Company, Mr. Khaled Waleed Al Falah, attended the ceremony and praised Creative Confidence for its vital role in the success of the program. He congratulated the “Shift” training program graduates for their dedicated participation. Mr. Al Falah emphasized that enhancing women’s participation in the labor market is firmly rooted in sound economic principles.
He noted that women’s involvement in the workforce and economic production drives market productivity. Moreover, he highlighted that the positive transformation in the Kuwaiti society depends heavily on Kuwaiti women’s active participation and their ability to fulfill their roles effectively. He further stressed that by leveraging their practical and social qualifications, Kuwaiti women make meaningful contributions across various levels and sectors.
The ceremony was also attended by Mrs. Taibah Mohammed Al Qatami, a Board Member of The National Investments Company, and praised the pivotal role of Kuwaiti women and the role of women in general in the revival of societies and their remarkable and pioneering presence in various aspects and social, political, intellectual and cultural fields, and applauded the notable participation of the trainees in cooperation with both the Creative Confidence team and the NIC team, where they were refined their skills, provided with the necessary experience and applied practical ideas, which will be a powerful and active tool to complete the path of the Shift program.
Mr. Fahad Abdulrahman Al Mukhaizim, Board Member and CEO of The National Investments Company, shed light on the company’s support for the growth and development of the national economy by strengthening the position of the private sector as a significant contributor to the economic development and qualifying national cadres with the necessary and required skills that make them ready to join the labor market. NIC confirms that its participation in this supportive program aims to develop and refine the skills and capabilities of Kuwaiti women and enable them to proceed and grow with their careers within the investment labor market on local and regional levels.
Mr. Abdulmohsen Adel Al Khatrash, Executive Director of Human Resources and Administration at NIC, added that the program’s success in its second edition reflects the company’s commitment to qualifying young national competencies, especially Kuwaiti women, to work within the investment sector. He also stressed that the program represents an important step towards empowering women to achieve more diversity and contribute effectively to the investment sector.
On the other hand, Mrs. Sumaya Mohammed Al Jassim, Founder of Creative Confidence, praised NIC’s positive participation in the Shift program and said that this program will lead Kuwaiti women to a vibrant educational experience by exploring innovation and investing in their careers. Shift is a program that provides a great experience where participants benefit from commitment, learning, and creativity. I feel very proud of the positive and effective impact that this program has had on the trainees, and we can say that Shift creates change.
